At rehearsal, Fenella exhibited an outrageous array of rings but none adorned the third finger of her left hand. When asked about her current status of 'spinster', Fenella replied, "Oh, I've been married lots of times, darling! I am at the moment the mistress to a very well-known king. He doesn't object if I go to the pictures with somebody else. Beyond that he can be very possessive." (1973)
